Mr. Garfield Garf Eugene Trask

We are saddened to announce that Garfield Eugene Trask of Sandy Cove passed away on Thursday, June 26th, 2014 at the age of 63. Garfield was born in Digby, a son of the late Garfield and Judy (Gidney) Trask. He was a fisherman in his earlier years, a truck driver for many years and the past 30 years he was a bus driver to the Islands and loved his bus kids. Garfield loved his grandkids, the water, watching MASH, war movies and westerns. Garfield will be greatly missed by his family and friends also his dog, Peppie. He is survived by his loving wife, Leona (Malay) Trask; daughters, Kristie (James) Jacquard, Yarmouth; Shannon (Kader) Ben Mahamed, Montreal; son, Jamie Goodwin, Digby; step-daughters, Julie Smith, Stephanie Smith, Ashley Smith; sisters, Lynn Gaffer, Judy Pleasant; grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Ely, Leila, Riley, Aunt Janet and Uncle Ozzie, Aunt Margaret, also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 7-9 pm, Sunday June 29th from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby (245-2525) also where the funeral service will be at 11am on Tuesday, July 1st . Pastor Mark Cress presiding. Interment in the Church of the Nativity Anglican Cemetery, Sandy Cove. Donations in memory of Garfield may be made to the Diabetes Association.
