

Age 81 of Jordantown passed away October 22nd, 2017 in Digby General Hospital. She was born in Danvers, a daughter of the late Martin and Myrtle Cromwell. Guida enjoyed rug hooking, knitting, playing bingo when she was well and working on her word search. She loved George Jones and watching Family Feud. It was a dream come true when she went with her sisters to meet George Jones. She was kind hearted, strong minded and she would always let you know what was on her mind. She loved her beloved cat Tiny and her family, especially her kids and grandchildren. Guida is survived by daughters, Maylene Ramore, Martina (Allan) McGrath; sons, Vernon (Valerie) Simms, Ernest Simms, Perry (Glynis) Simms, Karlis Simms; sister, Evangeline Cromwell; grandchildren, Tania, Chelsey, Mick, Shain, Daniel, Sean, Ashley, Cory, Alicia, Shaun, Karlisa, Sasha, Aldean Jr., Marc, Jenna, Jasmine, Cain, Francis, Kyle; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her special friend, Walter. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Vernon Simms; son, Aldean Simms; sisters, Myrtle, Mildred, Vade; brothers, Alliston, Emerson and Vincent. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2pm, Thursday October 26th at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby (902-245-2525). Pastor Theresa Character will preside with interment in Maplewood cemetery, Acaciaville. A special thank you to her niece, Bonita for always being there and for all that she’s done, it meant alot to Guida and the family. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
