Kevin Theodore Barton

Kevin Theodore Barton of Digby, NS, passed away on February 26th, 2023 at the age of 68. Born in Jordantown, NS on June 8th, 1954, he was the only son of the late Ellen Louise “Weedie” Barton and Sandford Barton. He was sibling to Lois Barton, Eva Barton, Thelma Barton, Portia Barton and Jocelyn Gagnon and father to O’Neil T.O. English Barton.

Kevin had a great soul for life; he enjoyed days surrounded by friends and family, and the blissful music of great artists. He had a thing for graphic t-shirts and suspenders. Kevin spent 33 years in Halifax working at the VG Hospital, where he collected cans and loved aiding patients to their rooms, everyday was something new. Kevin was part of a close knit community of the JAC and has many nieces and nephews with grand-children describing him as a kind, compassionate, supportive and fun individual. This feeling was echoed throughout the Digby and Halifax community, as he was a long-time member of the Digby Legion and Resolutes Club. He was an avid pool and bowling player and loved playing cards.

He will forever be missed, and many are grieving the loss of this amazing individual.

Visitation will be 5-8PM on Friday, March 17th at Acaciaville United Baptist Church. And the Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 18th at 1PM, at the Acaciaville United Baptist Church. There will be a repast at the Church Hall after the funeral. Following a burial in the spring. Donations in memory can be made to the Acaciaville United Baptist Church.
