

Isles, Leslie Harold - 65 of Bear River passed away at home February 26th, 2013. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Boyd and Marjorie (Taylor) Isles. Leslie was a trucker in Dartmouth from 1967 to 1970 before moving back to Bear River. He was self-employed as a trucker and logged for Bowater Mersey, he did construction both locally and in Alberta. He later worked at CFB Cornwallis until its closure as a water treatment operator, then was self-employed doing logging until his retirement. Leslie was a loving husband to Shirley for 46 years and a proud father and grandfather. Leslie enjoyed his vegetable garden in the summer, taking ATV trips with his friends in the community and taking his constant companion (his dog) “Bren” for long treks in the woods. Leslie will be greatly missed by wife, Shirley, sons, Andrew (Kim Nancarrow), B.C; Grant (Jeannette McGregor), Alberta; grandchildren, Brennen and Haley, son and daughter of Andrew and Kim; Jade, daughter of Grant and Jeannette; sister in law, Janice Isles, Alberta; nephews, Boyd and Craig Isles. Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his brother, Dean. Visitation 2-4, Sunday March 3rd, from Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street (245-2525) Digby. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2pm, Monday March 4th from Grace United Church, Digby. Pastor Simone Wilson presiding. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River. Donations in memory of Leslie may be made to Bear River Health Clinic, Heart and Stroke or a charity of choice.
