

Sabean, Lloyd George – 92, of Digby, passed away in Tideview Terrace on January 23, 2011. Born February 21, 1918 in South Range; Lloyd was a son of the late Ira M. and Dorothy A. (Haight) Sabean. Lloyd was a lifelong resident of South Range; except for just over three years from 1942-1946 when he served with the Royal Canadian Army at several bases in Canada; and for the last three years Lloyd has resided at Tideview. Other than the Army, his working years were spent as a woodsman, carpenter, and general store owner. After retiring in 1978, Lloyd and his wife Mildred spent many summers in their travel trailer, camping at Holiday Haven in Kingston; where they met many friends. Lloyd is survived by his son, Gary (Ruth); grandsons Tim (Andrea), Steve (Lisa), Rick (Lori) and Nathaniel (Megan); great-grandchildren, Jessica, Drew, Danielle, Amber, Emily and Derian; sister, Clara McCullough; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and Mildred, his wife of 65 years; Lloyd was predeceased by sisters, Dora and Gertie; brothers, Ken; Fred; Hubert; and Don. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday January 25th in Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St. Digby (245-2525). Funeral service will be 3pm Wednesday January 26th in South Range Christian Church, Rev. Merle Zimmerman and Darrell Haines presiding. Interment in the South Range Cemetery. Donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to Tideview Terrace or charity of choice.
