

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Cromwell on the night of Sunday July 14th in Digby General Hospital, after a brave battle with bone cancer. Margaret was born May 10, 1933 in Southville, Digby Co. and was a daughter of the late Elmer James and Jane Virginia Cromwell. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary and a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Southville. Margaret was loved by her community and was well known for her work as a seamstress. She was generous with her smiles and also had a word of encouragement for everyone. Margaret was a kind hearted woman with a generous spirit who always had a smile for everyone. She loved her dogs, Brenda and Casey. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her daughters, Catherine Clements, Brossard, Quebec; Melissa Clements, Canmore, Alberta; son, Roger Clements. Kuujjuaq, Quebec; brother, Chase; sister, Marie Pleasant; Marjorie Wesley, Maureen Robart; Melissa Lang; grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Jane, Cheyenne, Aqiki, Anthony, Jolisa and Lucassie. Margaret was predeaceased by common law partner John Cromwell, daughter, Jane Clements; sisters, Marion, Mabel; brothers, Arnold, Eldon, Reginald, Carmen, Garnet and Elmer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral home, 7 Birch Street, Digby (245-2525). A funeral service for Margaret and her daughter, Jane will be held 11 am Monday July 22nd, in St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Southville. Father Henry Smolenaars presiding with interment in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or T.L.C. Animal shelter, Digby.
