Robinson, Margaret Maria – 92 of Digby, NS passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 4, 2010. Margaret was born in Hantsport, NS on April 9, 1918. Margaret was the only child of the late Dr. Rev. T.W. Hodgson and Charlotte (LeLacheur) Hodgson . In 1919, the Hodgson family moved to Canning, NS where they resided until Margaret was 15 years old, it was then that the Hodgson family relocated to Digby. Margaret graduated from Mount Alison University with her teaching certificate in Home Economics and later graduated from the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. Margaret married Arthur L. Robinson on March 4, 1945 and made Digby her permanent residence. It was in Digby where Margaret nurtured her family and supported her community until her passing. Margaret was an avid gardener and supporter of local organizations and charities, such as the Horticultural Society, The Red Cross, Digby Hospital Auxiliary, and the Curling Club, to name a few. Margaret was a kind and gentle soul who believed in treating all people she encountered with dignity and respect. She encouraged and supported all who were fortunate enough to be considered friends, and because of her unique ability to never betray a confidence, that list is endless. Margaret was a fierce defender of those she loved, and we thank her for her legacy. Margaret’s love of nature, compassion for others, kindness, and laughter are gifts we will carry with us always. We will never watch a sunset without the warmth of her love surrounding us. Margaret is survived by her son Frederick Thomas (Deborah), Digby; and daughter Mary Blanchard, Smith’s Cove; grandchildren Kara Robinson, Megan (Scott) Moore, Arthur (Courtney) Robinson, Pamela Blanchard, Stefan Blanchard; great-grandchildren Frederick Robinson, Hailey Robinson, Nobel Robinson, Catherine Moore.
