Mrs. Mona Amelia Tully

Tully, Mona Amelia of Deep Brook, Annapolis Co. formerly of Bear River passed away April 1, 2010 in Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born September 3, 1916 she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Joseph) Shediac of Syria and later Eagle Head, Queens Co. Mona spent the best part of her time tending and enjoying her beautiful gardens. If you couldn’t find Mona there, you could be sure she would be at Frenchy’s, a place she frequented almost daily since its beginning. Mona collected dolls; she enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. Mona was a dedicated mother and grandmother. We will miss you Mom\Nanny. Mona is survived by her son, Frank Shediac (Mary) of Scarborough, Ont.; daughters, Linda Somers-Selig (Kurt) of Bear River; Pauline Kinney (Frank) of Deep Brook; grandsons, Frank Shediac Jr. (Barb) of Gromley, Ont.; Terry Shediac of Moncton, NB; Jeffrey Somers (Winnie) of Bear River; grand-daughters, Jennifer Somers-Pepler (Sean) of Cole Harbor; Molly Steeves (Ryan) of Moncton, NB; Grace Boudreau (Trevor) of New Glasgow; great grandchildren, Jude, Quinn, Amelia, Isaac, Rhonda, Dylan, Amanda, Danielle; one great-great grandson, Andrew. Mona was predeceased by the love of her life, John William Tully Jr.; sisters, Evelyn Shediac, Mona’s twin Rose Hurshman, and Mary Hebert; brothers, Albert and George; a sibling in infancy and great grandson, Jessie. Visitation 2-4 Saturday in Jayne’s Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby and 10:00 am – 3:00pm Monday in the Advent Christian Church, Landsdowne Rd. where the funeral service will be 3:00pm Monday, Rev. Ken Perkins officiating assisted by Rev. Earl Waterman. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River.
