

Nancy grew up on two different farms which she enjoyed immensely. At age 18 she went into nurses training at the Wellesley Hospital in Toronto. Nancy worked on the Rheumatic Diseases Unit for almost 8 years before moving to Smith’s Cove, Nova Scotia with her husband Harry in 1979. She then worked at the Digby General Hospital for approximately 25 years.
Nancy was a past member of the Digby Hospital Auxiliary, board member of Digby and Clare Home Support Agency, board member of Smith’s Cove Historical Society and costume coordinator of the Digby & Area Theatre Society. Her interests were all sorts of needle crafts over the years and an avid rug hooker with the Smith’s Cove Rug Hookers. She graduated with distinction from a four year course in Gerontological Nursing.
Nancy was predeceased by her younger brother, John Macham. Surviving are her husband, Harry Conrad; son, Ian Conrad; brother, Robert (Susan) Macham; sister-in-law, Donna Macham and several precious cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy of Canada or a charity of choice.
A service for Nancy will be held at the Smith’s Cove Baptist Church on Friday, November 18th at 2pm, Pastor Mark Cress officiating. Burial in Stayner Union Cemetery, in Ontario with a graveside memorial service.
