It is with great sadness that the family of Sawyer Elise Titus announce her sudden passing on Monday, October 27th, 2025, at the young age of eleven. Sawyer was born on the 17th of September 2014 to her loving parents, Jessica and Ryan Titus.
From the very beginning, Sawyer brought light to the lives of those who surrounded her. Joyous, empathetic, and full of spunk, she left anyone who knew her with the most memorable stories. Sawyer could befriend you with a simple “hi” and convince anyone to join her in dancing by hauling you straight out of your seat. Whether it was colouring, blowing bubbles, or playing in her toy kitchen, Sawyer was determined to have you play beside her, ensuring everyone felt included. Sawyer’s sense of empathy was mesmerizing for her age.
Sawyer will be remembered by her loving parents, Jessica and Ryan Titus; grandparents, Jim and Shelley Morrison, Shawn and Dorothy Doucette, Karen Saulnier, and Tony Titus; aunts and uncles, Marsha and Jeremy, Mitchell and Chrissy, Kailyn and Dylan; and cousins, Sommer, Jasper, Addie, Jack, Jenson, Jeorgia, and Bennett.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Joel Cox from Gateway Pediatrics, the Nursing staff of the children's floor of Yarmouth Regional Hospital, the various IWK departments that oversaw Sawyer, as well as the PICU, and finally, Terri Roach, Sawyer's physiotherapist and the highlight of Sawyer's Friday mornings. Each of these individuals played a pivotal role in advocating for and keeping Sawyer, Ryan and Jessica at ease during Sawyer's health journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the IWK Health Centre or the Cassie and Friends Society for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
Additionally, Jessica and Ryan have organized a Toy Drive in Sawyer’s honour, to which donations can be made before December 12th and will be delivered to the IWK by Jessica and Ryan themselves.
The bravery that Sawyer demonstrated throughout her life touched many and will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her memory will be forever loved, honoured, and cherished.
