To all the Williams Family,

We only recently learned of Chester's passing when someone from "down home" sent us his obituary.  Needless to say, we are saddened tremendously to hear of this very sad news.

Chester and Norma were 2 of our very closest friends during our time living in Plympton.  Our kids played together all the time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Chester,  even though you are sadly missed, it gives us comfort knowing you are no longer suffering.I was very fortunate to have  known you in the 2 years Craig and I have been together.You have a wonderful son I am so fortunate to have him in my life.
Chester, may you R.I.P. know you will always be close to our hearts.

I wish I knew what to say!  The more I think of his passing, the more of a shock it is.  

Chester was certainly the closest of the Williams uncles/aunts to me.  Chester & Norma’s home was even my home for a year or was it two, not to mention weekend visits for many years before that – they allowed me to stay with them so that I could finish high school.  I will always be grateful for that.  In turn, I “helped” Chester on many electrical jobs as a “go-for”, helped cut and split many cords of wood, “helped” re-build his house after the fire, helped by babysitting the “kids”, almost crashed his beloved car once, and “helped” in countless other chores.  In retrospect, I am so grateful for being “adopted” by Chester and family while growing up.  I only learned recently that Chester was my god-father – he certainly fulfilled that role!

Through university and especially later while working and living in Ottawa, I didn’t get to visit very often and even then they were short visits partly due to my wife’s (Barbara’s) asthma – he tried not to smoke when she was visiting since it affects her badly.  Fortunately, the many good, happy memories do not fade quickly.  Thank you, Carol Ann, for contacting me and for posting the old photos.  Hopefully, there will be more from you and others.

I will miss Chester.  I wish I had stayed in closer contact so I could have known him and the rest of the family better in more recent years. 

My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the “kids” (my cousins), their children and their children, many of whom I have never met.

Chester was a leader to the members of the tri-county area for all of his years in the Union. His contribution to the Executive Board and his Unit will always be remembered. Rest in peace Brother.

Carol Ann, I was saddened to read in the paper today of your father's passing. The pictures are priceless and help show what a wonderfully human person he was. He obviously loved the outdoors, his family and friends. 
In a short time you have lost the two men in your life who meant so much to you, Carol Ann. May God see it in His wisdom to give you peace and comfort in this difficult time.
