

With love and sadness in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne Phillip Wade, age 78 of Annapolis Royal, NS, on January 8, 2025 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Annapolis Royal, he was he was a son of the late Elimer and Olive (Amero) Wade.
Wayne was a fisherman throughout his life, off shore, scallop and ground fish. He was a deckhand in his younger days and moved on to being captain to different boats over the years. Wayne also worked in the woods for a few years running a porter, to his final job as a long haul trucker. Wayne played in league darts at Clementsport Legion. He also loved deer hunting, trout fishing and camping; he enjoyed time with his Lake Breeze family. Wayne was a kind soul with a huge heart and the warmest smile. He never raised his voice and had the patience of a saint.
Wayne is survived by daughters, Anjanette Burton (Pat), Luella Sullivan (Nathan); step sons, Stephan and William McDonald; step daughter, Lisa Griffiths (Alan); sisters, Carol Tenwolde and Mary Bradley (Peter); brother, Clifford (Crystal); 4 grandchildren, Sabrina, Kaitlyn, Shelby and Bryceon; step grandchildren, Mikayla, A.J., Todd and Nathan as well as 5 great grandchildren, Macie, Kenize, Tyson, Ember and Jasmine.
Beside his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, George and Charles and his longtime companion, Judy Nickerson on the 31st of December 2024.
Please join us in celebrating Wayne on Saturday, January 18 from 4-6pm at Jayne’s Funeral Home in Digby. Reminiscing of good times with Wayne and stories to be told.
In lieu of flowers donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON).
