

Dinuba — Age 84, passed away on August 18, 2025, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 12, 1940, in Sultana, CA, Charles was the beloved son of Cub and Wilma Cornett. He grew up in Sultana and graduated from Dinuba High School.
He then proudly served his country in the National Guard and went on to work as the Parts Manager for Ford Motor Company in Fresno, CA. Charles had a lifelong love for agriculture and was a farmer all his life. In retirement, he and his wife enjoyed participating in local farmers’ markets. He also gave back to his community as a longtime leader with the Wilson Dinuba 4-H Club and as an active member of the Dinuba Lions Club. In 2012, he and his wife received the Dinuba Citizens of the Year award.
He was known for his kindness, strong work ethic, and love for his family. Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Keaton Cornett; his sister, Christine Camp; his three children: Scott Cornett and his wife Jeanine, Terri Cornett Young and her husband Brian, and Annmarie Cornett; five grandchildren: Andrew Cornett and his wife Andrea, Kaitlyn Young, Christopher Young, Rylie Cornett, and Bryce Cornett; and two great-grandchildren: Adeline and Andersen Cornett.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Sultana. A memorial lunch will follow at the Alta District Historical Society in Dinuba.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alta Historical Society.
