God called Christy Lea Curiel home on Thursday, February 20th, 2024, at the age of 45. Christy was born on June 30th, 1978, in Phoenix, Ariz. to John A. Curiel and Nancy Crawford from Reedley, Calif. Christy passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long and rare illness.
Christy was raised in San Diego, Calif, and Tucson Ariz., attending local schools, and later attending the University of Arizona. Growing up she was an avid swimmer participating in competitive swimming events throughout San Diego, across the country and overseas. After giving birth to her daughter Guinevere K. Curiel, she relocated to Escondido, Calif., where she lived for the rest of her life. Christy was preceded in death by her partner and Guinevere’s father Eric Olson.
She is survived by her daughter Guinevere; her mother Nancy Crawford, her father John A. Curiel (Cynthia); brother John C. Curiel (Tiffany); nephew John Alex Curiel, niece Sophia Curiel and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Christy will be deeply missed and is in our hearts forever.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00am on June 6th at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1060 F Street, Reedley, Calif, followed by burial services at the Reedley Cemetery.
