Dorothy E. Nickerson, died on November 30, 2017, at the age of 90. She was a beautician and later obtained her license to sell real estate. She was preceded in death be three husbands, Virgil Johnston, Dillard Spoone and Swede Nickerson.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Bill Johnston and his wife, Judith Ann, David R. Johnston and his wife, Debra Newton Johnston, and Kevin Johnston and his husband, Michael; her daughter, Debbie West; five grandchildren, Christ Johnston, Tom Johnston, Jonathaon West and Sarah Johnston; four great grandchildren, Gavin Johnston Tillison, Dylan Johnston and Evelyn Johnston; and a sister, Louise Conley and her husband Earl.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, Dec 7, at Dopkins Funeral Chapel. The graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, Dec 8, 2017, at Smith Mountain Cemetery
