Harold Gene Tuttle, 92, of Reedley, California, passed away on November 21, 2023. He was born on August 26, 1931, in Spickard, Missouri. Gene, as he preferred to be called, was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
Gene moved to the Fresno area with his family in the early 1960’s and quickly became a friendly presence in the community. He had a knack for striking up conversations and loved reminiscing about his life as a home delivery milk man and his days playing sports in high school. Gene was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and baseball on TV. He was known for his strong work ethic and continued working well beyond retirement.
Gene is survived by his children Gregory Tuttle, Jon Tuttle, Daniel Tuttle, Karen Tuttle, Pamela Brett-Street, Jeanine Karnes, and Denise Tuttle. Gene was also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children Robert Tuttle, Mark Tuttle, and Mary Kubacki.
Gene's entrepreneurial spirit led him to own several businesses throughout his life, including Tuttle's Ice Cream Parlor in Reedley, Henson's Motel, Reedley General Food Store on Manning Avenue in Reedley, and Tuttle's Ranch House Restaurant in Sanger. Even after retirement, Gene found joy in working at Yoshino Japanese Restaurant in Fresno.
The visitation will be held on November 30, 2023, at 9:00 am, followed by a service at 10:00 am at Dopkins Funeral Home in Dinuba. Gene will be laid to rest at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba.
