James lived a life marked by both challenges and perseverance. Though his journey was not without hardship, he remained connected to those he loved. As a father and grandfather, he cared deeply in his own way and made efforts throughout the years to be present in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Family, in all its complexities, remained an important part of his story.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Juliane and her husband, Myles Muriedas, of Moorpark, California, along with their children Reed, Bryce, Leighton, Everleigh, and Remington; his daughter Kylie Nesgis of Fresno, California; his son Tyler Nesgis and his wife, Robyn, of Clovis, California, along with their children Krew and Kash; and his son Zachary Nesgis.
He is also survived by his sisters, Pauline (Joanne) Rice and Judy Spence, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Louise Nesgis (2002) and John Nesgis (1992), and by his brother, Johnny Nesgis (1972).
Through his children and grandchildren, his legacy lives on. He will be remembered in personal and meaningful ways by all who knew him.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dopkins Funeral Chapel, 189 S. J Street, Dinuba, CA 93618.
In tribute to James and his love of sports, family and friends are invited to wear their favorite sports attire.
