Joe L. Lopez Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025. He was born on August 23, 1946, in Guanajuato, Mexico, and later made his home in Orosi, California, where he built a life rooted in hard work, love, and generosity.
Joe was known for his strong work ethic and the profound impact he had on everyone he met. His smile could light up a room, and he had a remarkable ability to make others laugh. Caring and loving by nature, Joe was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. A proud and passionate 49er fan, he carried his team spirit everywhere he went.
He often shared two of his favorite sayings, “I was born a man” and “I’m a mean machine, nothing can hurt me, nothing can touch me,” phrases that perfectly captured his humor, confidence, and unwavering resilience. Joe also loved the simple pleasures of life, especially donuts and potato wedges.
Above all, Joe was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the heart of his world.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe S. Lopez Sr.; his mother, Juanita (Silva) Lopez; and his beloved wife, Margaret Lopez.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane Lopez and Lisa Lopez; his son, Santos Lopez; and his son-in-law, Nick Cadena.
He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren—Katerina Lopez, Ruben Lopez, Alyssa Lopez, Isaac Cadena, Maya Lopez, Emily Moreno, Javier Lopez, and Mariah Lopez—and his great-grandson, “Pepe” Antonio Lopez.
