To Manong Loreto’s family, I’m sincerely sorry for your loss. He touched so many lives, and I wanted to share a memory of how he touched mine.

I first met him when he started working in Lindsay in 2023, and he welcomed me like family from the very beginning. With not having close family nearby, meeting him meant a lot. He reminded me of my kuya, just an older version, so I would tell people he was my uncle. Since there weren’t many Filipinos around, it was comforting to see someone I could call “Uncle” or “Manong.”

Even though we had only known each other a short time, he invited me and my family to a party at his home. When he gave me the address, I realized we lived on the same street. I told him I could walk over since I lived just down the road, and sure enough, my husband, my son, and I took a short walk to his house, with my container of biko in hand. I was so worried it might be too sweet since it was my first time making it, but he just smiled and told me not to worry. That day, I ate the fish tinola and rice he cooked, and it felt so special to enjoy homemade Filipino food again. It even inspired me to start cooking more Filipino dishes at home.

His kindness, generosity, humor, and love for his family will stay with me always. I will always remember him with warmth and gratitude. Praying for and sending strength and comfort to his family during this difficult time.

Loreto will be missed greatly by many. He was a great friend of mine—but more a brother. We went through many trials and accolades together in our careers, having worked closely for nearly 20 years. He always had a way of making things feel lighter than what they were. I personally needed that more times than I can count. His sense of humor was unmatched.
Love you, brother. Rest in peace. 🙏

My dear friend Loreto Pascua was an extraordinary  man whom I was blessed to have known for 28 years. 
I met Loreto back in 2007.  It was our first day of orientation at Frito-Lay.  I was a young 19 year old kid who didn’t know much of working in manufacturing, especially for a large company like that. I was the youngest employee at that time , and didn’t know how to fit in. I remember this guy walking up to me. Calm, confident , and stylish with his green Z Cavaricci pants, buttoned up shirt, and a 90’s hair style. He introduced himself to me, asked who I was and where I was from.  Once I provide my info, He said, “Hey man!  I know your family, and you know some of my family, so we’re family!!!” 
That day forward he was one of my best friends there at work and also outside of work.
That was Loreto, very welcoming, encouraging, empowering, funny, straight forward, and trustworthy. 
After Frito-Lay, we went on to work at Odwalla and WestRock, making many more  fun memories each year. Loreto was one of my mentors in my professional career.  He gave me advice and always encouraged me to push myself to be the best I can be.  I’m very grateful for that. 
Loreto’s, humor, choice of words, ambition, and generosity are indescribable. I will truly miss all of that and forever hold those memories with me. 

Thank you for  everything Loreto. Thank you for being you.  Rest In Peace my friend.

Nineteen years of friendship is something truly special. He was not only my friend, but my mentor. When I first met him, I was young, stubborn, and still trying to find my way. He saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself, and that many others didn’t see either.

He pushed me, challenged me, and believed in me when I needed it most. Through his guidance, patience, and honesty, he helped shape me into the person and leader I am today. He didn’t just give advice, he invested in me, built me up, and prepared me for a career and a life with purpose.

His impact on my life goes far beyond words. I will always be grateful for the lessons, the trust, and the friendship we shared. He will forever be remembered, respected, and missed.

I had the opertunity to work with Loreto for 12 years at frito lay. He was an awesome friend, always new how to make the best of any situation  ❤️. Always loved hearing about his trips back home to the Philippines, loved hearing his stories about how he would have barbecues for everybody that he knew over there big parties and how he claimed he was the Mayor of his town in the Philippines🙂 I've lost contact over the years with so many of my Frito-Lay friends, but even that said I will miss him and he was a bright light of friendship in my life when we hung out and work together in the distribution office, my prayers go out to his family to heal their hearts he will live forever with us in memories ✝️

I had the privilege of working with Loreto, and during that time he often encouraged me to try the hot chili peppers he brought for lunch. After declining many times, I finally agreed. As I began eating them, he smiled and said, “Oh, you may have made a mistake,” which still brings a fond smile to my face.

Loreto worked with me for two years, and in that time he left a lasting impression on my heart. He would stop by my office several times a day, always with a smile, a helping hand, or a story to share. His happiness was genuine, his willingness to help never-ending, and his kindness something you felt the moment you spoke with him. Loreto had a truly kind soul, and I thank God for the blessing of having met him and for the privilege of knowing him, even for such a short time.
