Manuel Curiel Diaz, a cherished resident of San Jose, California, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on October 17, 1930, in Woodlake, California, Manuel lived a life full of dedication, love, and service.
Manuel served as an Army Medic during the Korean War, demonstrating courage and commitment to his country. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a jetliner mechanic, dedicating 38 years to his craft, including 34 years with United Airlines in San Francisco, where he eventually retired.
On March 10, 1956, Manuel married the love of his life, Sarah Hernandez. They shared a beautiful life together until Sarah's passing in January 2022. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Cynthia Marie Diaz, Patricia Ann Diaz, and George Manuel Diaz.
Manuel was a man of varied interests. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, and golfing, often participating in golf tournaments. He had a passion for trying new foods and was an enthusiastic gardener and puzzle solver. His love for life and family was evident in everything he did.
Known for his strong, humble, and quiet nature, Manuel was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. He was highly respected by family and friends and was a favorite in his neighborhood, with an incredible number of friends.
A visitation will be held at Dopkins Funeral Chapel, located at 189 South J Street, Dinuba, CA, on January 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 12:00 pm. The committal service will take place at Smith Mountain Cemetery, 42088 Rd 100, Dinuba, CA.
Manuel leaves behind a legacy of love, respect, and cherished memories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
