Tommy Gerold Voss Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A longtime resident of Dinuba, California, Tommy was born on February 22, 1940, in Haworth, Oklahoma. He lived a life defined by devotion—to his family, his faith, and the many people fortunate enough to know him.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, George Calvin Voss and Dolly Myrtle Voss, both originally from Texas; his beloved wife of 64 years, Edna Ruth Voss of Dinuba, California, his sister, Carrie Patton of Louisiana; and his brother, Harold “Sonny” Voss of California.
He was a deeply devoted father and is survived by his three children, who were the pride of his life:
his daughter, Lynette Wallis, and her husband, Shawn Wallis of Coarsegold, California; his daughter, Karen Voss of Dinuba, California; and his son, Tommy Voss Jr. of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Tommy was a proud and loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Cynthia Barney and her husband, Joshua Barney of Fresno, California; Jessica Schendel of Dinuba, California; and Joshua Voss and his wife, Ann Voss of Goose Creek, South Carolina.
He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Jerrin Barney and Miriam Barney of Fresno, California, and Jackson Voss of Goose Creek, South Carolina.
Tom worked in the insurance industry for 30 years as a truck claims adjuster before retiring. Known for his strong work ethic and integrity, he took pride in providing for his family and doing his work well. He was a faithful member of the Dinuba Nazarene Church, where his quiet faith and steady presence reflected his love for God and others.
An avid golfer, Tom spent many happy years on the golf course, enjoying the game he loved and the friendships that came with it. Yet above all else, Tom will be remembered for his heart of gold. He loved deeply, gave freely, and stood steadfastly by those he cared for.
To know Tommy was to be loved by him—and to be loved by him was a true blessing. His kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share life with him. Though he will be dearly missed, his legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories will remain forever.
