

Kings Park, New York – Barry Oster, 85, of Kings Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20th with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne (Deutchman) Oster; his sons, Steven Oster and his wife, Judy of Virginia; Robert Oster and his wife, Christina of Massachusetts and Mark Oster and his wife, Christine of New York. His beautiful grandchildren: Jacob, Nathan, David, Justin, Daniel, Gabrielle, Alex and Nicole. His brother, Richard Oster and his wife, Anna of Florida. His sister, Joyce (Oster) Hochfeld of New Jersey. His nieces and nephews, Elise Kaplan, Marla Runsdorf, Eric Hochfeld and Darren Oster, and extended nieces and nephews.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Murray and Pauline (Wexler) Oster; and was a graduate of Brooklyn College. A career as project manager for several major building contractors in New York City.
Besides enjoying time with his family, Barry enjoyed reading, tennis, watching his New York teams: The Mets, Knicks and Giants. He was happiest watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. He is remembered for his quick wit and his one liners, affectionately referred to by his family as “Barryisms”.
His funeral will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the I.J. Morris Funeral Home, 21 East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills, NY. Interment Service immediately following at the New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Bablylon, NY, 11704
