

Rosen, Irving – 83 of Dix Hills, NY and Hemlock Farms, Lords Valley, PA; passed away sadly after a long battle with cancer on November 20, 2011. Irving leaves behind his loving daughter, and son-in-law, Judi and Seth Lipner, as well as his cherished granddaughter Zoe, and his honored brother Nathan Rosen. Irving is also a beloved uncle, and great uncle to many nieces, and he now joins his late wife Lianne, and late son Michael. Irving proudly served his country during World War II as a hurricane hunter in the United States Navy, and during the Korean War he was an analytical statistician for the United States Airforce. In 1950 Irving proudly graduated from New York University with a BS degree in Statistics and History. Irving was a beloved and honored fixture in many civic and political organizations within Hemlock Farms in Pike County, PA. Services will be held at I J Morris Dix Hills on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at 12:00pm, with interment to follow at the Wellwood Cemetery in Pinelawn, NY. Shiva will be observed at the home of Judith and Seth Lipner, 18 Old Brook Road. Dix Hills, NY 11746, on Wednesday and Thursday and again on Sunday. On Saturday Shiva will be held at the Dix Hills Jewish Center. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. May Irving’s memory and love always remain in our thoughts and our hearts.
