Peppi Schwartz

Schwartz - Peppi, born 1/28/1930, only child of Rebecca and Louis Spiegel died 8/10/24. She grew up in NYC, attended public school and Brooklyn College. She was married to the love of her life, Benjamin Schwartz from 1950 until his death in 2018. Peppi and Ben lived in Israel before returning to NYC. They have four children, Nira (Gene), Ari (Julie), Dina, Roni (Mark); five grandchildren, Rachel (Chuck), Abigail, Talia, Louis, Miles; and great-granddaughter, Gwenevere.

In 1975, Peppi earned her PhD in Psychology from Hofstra. She worked as the school psychologist in William Floyd school district for 24 years. Peppi and Ben visited countries on every continent, and were founding members of Temple Beth David, where she was a Hebrew school teacher and later, an avid member of the Saturday Torah Study group. In her free time, Peppi enjoyed knitting, cooking, photography, reading and attempting various sports. Peppi treasured her beloved friends of the Friday night Havurah, the William Floyd book club, the Thursday Chug, and the Torah study group, as well as her new friends at Fountaingate Gardens.

Funeral service will be held at Temple Beth David on Monday, August 12th at 10am.
