I was shocked to hear of Val's untimely passing. I had the pleasure of working with Val at ClearVision for a very,  very long time. She watched my son grow up. She was one of the funniest and most sincere people I have ever known. I attended her wedding to Tony and I know she loved him so very much. It was nice that she had a second chance at love.  I also went to see her perform her comedy routines a number of times,  and it was always so much fun with so many laughs.  She was surely a natural!  It was nice that she got to have a second career in comedy, as she was always so naturally funny!  I remember when my husband used to call to speak to Val at the reception desk, to help find me at ClearVision,  since I never carried my phone and he could never get in contact wth me.  She was always able to help him, and they had nice conversations.  I am sure that Val and Tony have been reunited!  I will for sure miss Val's smiling face and sunny outlook on life! Val was the first person I saw when I walked into the CVO building in Farmingdale 21 years ago sitting at the front desk. She already put me at ease for my first day there. I would cover for Val on and off at the front desk in Farmingdale and Hauppauge and every time she saw me she would say "what's  cookin". She was a lot of fun always had a smile on her face always looked beautiful and she loved to dance and always would be on her way when leaving, to her Zumba classes. She always talked about her children and grandchildren and of course her husband Tony. I give her so much credit that when she retired she did what she wanted to do and that was to make people laugh! Unfortunately it was not nearly long enough! My heart and prayers go out to her children and grandchildren. But I guess Tony needed her more and must have called out for her. I loved working with you Val and being your co-worker and friend and you truly will be missed. I am so sorry you left this Earth too soon! May you be at peace with your husband and watching over your family and friends and know that you left a beautiful mark in this world! Rest in peace Val. You will truly be missed! 💔

I met Val back in 2009 when I went for a job interview at Clearvision Optical and the smiling face that greeted me belonged to Val.   She told me to make myself comfortable and offered to get me some coffee…and unknowingly eased my nerves in the process.   When I reported for work the first day it was a relief feeling that I already had a friend in the company.  

We grew to know each other better in 2012 when we started to carpool when gas was scarce after Superstorm Sandy.  While I drove she told me about her family, and I learned of her philosophical nature and she told me stories about her nervousness behind the wheel.   I did not take those quirks seriously until after a long ride on smaller streets, we got close to a merge in Hauppauge that she had told me about.   I was instructed to sit still and be quiet as she started to shift lanes and she desperately clung to the mezuzah that she kept in the car for just those times.  We made it with no problem and to this day I think of her anytime I am near route 454/347 and smile  at how real the situation was to her but how she did not let it stop her from trying each day.   Needless to say I began picking her up if there was a snowflake or two on the ground and on the way home one night, I hit an icy patch on Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway and did a full circle and got stuck on the ice.   Her fingernails were dug into the dashboard and I do not think she took a breath until I was able to extricate us from this scary situation.  It was probably the only time I saw her speechless in all the time that I knew her.  I will miss her.

Today, I want to take a moment to honor the memory of an amazing coworker, and more importantly, a wonderful friend — Val. I had the privilege of working alongside Val for many years at ClearVision Optical, and even after she retired, we stayed in touch. Every visit, every phone call, and every story she shared left me smiling, laughing, and feeling so lucky to have her in my life.

Val was one of a kind. She had the biggest heart, the brightest attitude, and a natural talent for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. I’ll never forget visiting her at her home, hearing her talk about her beautiful life, her kids, grandkids, and of course — her beloved Tony. I even had the joy of seeing her perform at her comedy shows, bringing my husband and parents along for a night of belly laughs we’ll never forget.

She was the kind of person who told stories so well, you felt every emotion with her — joy, sorrow, excitement, and gratitude. She made even the simplest moments meaningful, like cutting out baby product coupons for me (long after she retired!) or proudly telling me how she revived Tony’s plants and was keeping them alive, one leaf at a time.

My last visit with Val was filled with laughter as she asked me how to use her new vacuum and recounted her plant care adventures. That was Val — endlessly warm, funny, and always a storyteller who left you better than she found you.

Her presence will be so deeply missed by all who knew her, and my heart aches for her family. But I also know Val led a beautiful, meaningful life and left a lasting impact on so many. Rest well, Val — and enjoy being with your Tony again. You were truly the best. ❤️

My heart goes out to Val‘s family. She was one of a kind, very special. I worked with Val at two jobs. It took me a month to figure out where I knew her from, but I certainly could never forget her. We had a lot of wonderful memories. Val was very generous with her heart. She was always ready, willing, and able to listen, and more often than not, our conversations were full of jokes and laughter. This hurts a lot. I will miss her presence in this world, even if it’s been a while since we’d seen each other. She was a true gem. Rest peacefully, Val. Take a bow. You’re with Tony now.

Alan, I want to thank you again for taking the time to speak to me. Your mother’s passing came as quite a shock. I knew her for so many years  the light of her smile the laughter she was the funniest woman I knew.  I was not altogether surprised but somewhat to find out that she started doing stand-up comedy.  she was just so funny without trying to be. I was telling my husband about her and HOW when her job changed she had to drive further out on the island and she didn’t drive on the parkways. 
I am so sad to hear this news. I was able to share it with another fellow who knew her way back when my deepest sympathy to you and your family

Our first trip to NY in 1982…- street cafe in Chinatown with Phyllis, Michael, Val and Bernie…somehow Val was able to “acquire” this ashtray for us in memory of the occasion.  It lays, since then, in our kitchen as a daily reminder of  the Wonderful, Funny, Unforgettable and Unique Val, and no, we don’t smoke.

Val and I shared  our comedy journey—frequently performing on the same bill—starting from her win in a Port Jefferson comedy contest. She was warm, funny, and lovingly generous in every regard, and her Tony was always there,  cheering  her on. To say she’ll be missed is an understatement. Say hi to Tony for me, Val. It's hard to believe you left us....You were the sole connection in the Rosenberg family for those who lived in different locations....I remembered we had lengthy conversations with so much humor.  You had so much sensitivity as well.  You always found time to inspire people with your Facebook writings.  Your passing was so unexpected.  I'm sorry I didn't see you perform.....Val..you will never be forgotten...I feel even now, your spirit will always be around us....cousins...and your family as well....I guess Tony was lonely....and he called you...so Val...keep those Angels laughing...God Bless You

Val, you left us too soon and will be sorely missed.  We shared a sense of humor and always had good times when the family got together.  I just hated it when you came up with the winning hand at our big-time nickel-and-dime poker games.  May you rest in peace, and may your name be for a blessing.

Valerie was a Special Woman. I got to know her from Laughs at the Library in East Meadow. We became friends and I got to meet Tony also. May both of their memories always be for a blessing.

I’m so sad.  Loved Val. She was some special person. She gave Lot to all.

My last special moments with Val. Enjoying lunch with her and Comedian Mark Brier at the diner. We laughed and discussed the meaning of life.

We’ve lost a GEM!  The Rubins have been our friends for over 40 years.  Oh do I have stories!  The one that comes to mind right now is when they all came to our house to wait out Hurricane Gloria.  Val insisted on making a tape (no videos back then) of us all singing songs about storms & hurricanes.  We must have sung the song ,”GLORIA” G L O R I A GLORIA 50 times.  I know I have that tape around somewhere.  We howled & cried with laughter!   We’ll miss you our “funny” friend💜🤗😘
