Cody was a family man through and through and he loved his people fiercely - both his given family, and his chosen family. He rarely missed a Michigan State or Detroit Lions football game, or a Detroit Tigers game. Cody was an avid baseball and fastpitch softball player and always enjoyed a good round of golf. He spent many years on a local club softball team, and his family will miss watching him play on the ballfield. Cody brought so much life to every room he walked into, and was always quick with a joke to lighten any mood. Cody took pride in his work and gave his all to everything he did. For the past 14 years, he worked for Great Lakes Superior Walls as their CAD Manager. On May 20, 2017, Cody married the love of his life, Nikki Tubergen. In April of 2019, they welcomed their little girl, Charlotte (Charlie), whom Cody absolutely adored.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Hannah Pogodzinski and Larry Hibma. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nicole; daughter, Charlie; parents Bryan and Beverly; sister, Ashley; grandfather, Russell Pogodzinski; parents-in-law Wendy and Dave Gray, and Todd Tubergen; grandmother-in-law, Jan Hibma; sisters-in-law Becky (Kris) Hurt and Karlee Gray; and brother-in-law, Danny Tubergen; five nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
