His greatest joy was praying the rosary. He loved wearing his scapular and praying his Pieta Prayer Book. Dave always was so happy, especially when he would receive Vienna sausages and flavored Tic Tacs. Dave was our family’s prayer warrior; he held each one of us in his prayers and in his heart.
Dave will be reunited with his parents Martin Sr. and Viola Wesaw and siblings Lawrence, Daniel (Mini), Martin Jr. (Sonny), Sylvester, Lois, JoEllen, and Mary.
He is leaving behind his siblings Jean Wesaw, Carl (Kelly) Wesaw, Carolyn Wesaw, Catherine Wesaw, Elizabeth (Jeff) Harris, Gregory Wesaw, and Teresa Wesaw, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, with visitation prior to the service starting at 9 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Monsignor William Duncan will be the celebrant. Interment at Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery.
The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookdorr.com in their guestbook online.
