James Jerome McKenzie

He was born January 6, 1953, the son of Bobby and Jo Taylor. He graduated from Rehobeth High School in 1972 and served in the Air National Guard. Mr. McKenzie retired from Sara Lee Bakery after 35 years. His passion was being on the water fishing every chance he got.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary McKenzie, of Dothan; daughter, Lisa Hamilton (Russell) of Spanish Fort; stepson, Eric Warg (Denise) of Ashford; stepdaughter, Kim Warg of Ashford; parents, Bobby and Jo Taylor of Dothan; sister, Sara Dunning (Jerry) of Wetumpka, AL; granddaughter, Megan Hamilton; stepgrandchildren, Caleb and Sara Warg.

Mr. McKenzie is preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Long.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing.
