Marlin Kelley Gilley

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel on West Main Street with the Chaplain Michael Dease officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL, 36302.

Mr. Gilley was born August 6, 1929 in Houston County and lived most all of his life in Dothan. He was a longtime employee and also retired from Howell Plywood Corporation. Mr. Gilley enjoyed the outdoors and gardening and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dothan.

Mr. Gilley is preceded in death by parents, Jesse Morrow Gilley and Walter Doyle Gilley and a brother, Clyde Olin Gilley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Aplin Gilley of Dothan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth Gilley Sollie (Mike) of Newnan, GA, Kim Gilley Spencer (E. L. Spencer, III ‘Spence’) of Auburn, AL; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith Cummings (Chris Lillard) of Helena, AL; grandsons, Eli Sollie, Richard, William and Davis Cummings; three sisters, Evelyn Hughes, Jeanette Vaughan and Janice Leger (Gerald); one brother, Glen Gilley and many nieces and nephews.
