Wanda Lunsford Bates

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John D. Reese, III and Rev. Paul Bronold officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 Friday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christian Renewal Inc., 423 S. Park Ave., Dothan, AL 36301.

Wanda was born March 24, 1934. She was a graduate of Florida State University where she received her degree in music. She taught music in Dothan and served as a church organist. Wanda loved Jesus with all her heart and wanted everyone to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Survivors include three children, Londa Pybus (Bill), David Lunsford (Cathy) and Bennett Bates; grandchildren, Haley Teachman (Travis), Steven Bates, Chelse Pybus, Amanda Pybus, John Lunsford, Charity Lunsford, Kevin Lunsford, Austin Lunsford, Stewart Lunsford and Michelle Winkler; great grandchildren, Gabriel Breitinger, Adien Winkler, Josh Winkler, Miranda, Cam, Charity and Brantley; and special friend and “adopted” daughter, Marilynne Pippin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Teachman, James Wofford, Paul Bronold, Frank Pippin, Jeff Kirby and Daniel Sassett.
