Andrew was born on June 2, 1938, in Live Oak, Florida, to his late parents, Andrew Jackson Bass II and Mrs. Alma Liza Law Bass. He spent his life grounded in faith, family, and love, values that shaped every role he carried—as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Andrew was a longtime resident of Douglasville, Georgia, where he built a beautiful life with the love of his life, Wanda C. Bass. The two shared an enduring marriage of 65 years, a testament to devotion, partnership, and unwavering love.
A man of deep faith, he loved the Lord with his whole heart and lived his life guided by God’s word. He was a proud patriot who loved his country, and he never missed a chance to talk about Jesus.
He found great joy in the outdoors…especially fishing. It was where he felt closest to God, nature and peace. But above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving and steady dad, a Pops to his grands and great grands, and he delighted in every moment spent with them. He was simply treasured.
His legacy is one of faith, love, integrity, and service. While we grieve his passing, we rejoice knowing he is now home with his Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Together, he and Mrs. Wanda were blessed with three beautiful children:
Andrew J. Bass IV (Tani Mahaffey), Dana Bass Naylor(Steve), and Brandon P. Bass.
Andrew was preceded in death by all of his siblings: Curtis Bass, Theron Bass, Claude Reese, Winton Bass, Elizabeth Jones, and Lieutenant Colonel Thomas D. Bass, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Brooke Naylor Rees.
He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Steven Naylor, Adrienne Strickland, and Braelyn Bass; and his adored great-grandchildren: Liza Hope Strickland, Lainy Drew Strickland, and Bass Kevin Naylor, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
