Clarence J. Morgan

Mr. Clarence Jefferson Morgan, age 91, of Douglasville, GA passed away Friday, June 6, 2014. He was born June 11, 1923 in Luverne, AL. Mr. Morgan was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sally Hammett Morgan; his parents, Eugene and Holly Savanah Godwin Morgan; two brothers, J. P. Morgan and Coy Lee Morgan; and three sisters, Lucille Styron, Ethel M. Morgan, and Addie Lou Taylor.

He is survived by sons, Clarence Dennis Morgan and wife Martha, C.C. Morgan and wife Ginny, Kenneth Jefferson Morgan, Jon Terry Morgan and wife Leesa, Shannon Morgan and wife Charlotte; daughters, Susan M. Rady and husband David, and Gail Guthrie; three sisters, Martha Louise Moon, Annie Pearl Lee and Ruby Nell Weeks; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Morgan was cremated and the family will receive friends at Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM with Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Morgan to Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Road, Douglasville, GA 30135.
