Mrs. Cynthia Jamesine “Jami” (Wimberly) McAfee, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was born in Bunnell, Florida on November 14, 1953. Jami spent most of her life in Florida growing up – attending and graduating high school there before moving to Georgia. True to her roots, she loved any Florida sports team, outside of her favorite NFL team, the Saints. She was a doting mother and grandmother, always loving to spend time with her family and strongly encouraging them to take photos with her. Jami was very active in her grandchildren’s lives, making it a point to cheer them on in all of their endeavors.
In her spare time, she loved to shop and bring gifts for her grandchildren. She couldn’t wait to find the next treasure to add her vast collection. Jami was a strong believer in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a faithful member of the Baptist faith. Her home church in Florida was Ebro Assembly of God and later found a home with the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica.
Jami is preceded in death by her husband, James McAfee; and her parents, James R. Wimberly and Constance “Connie” Wimberly.
She is survived by her children, James D. McAfee, Victoria (Chris) Bender, and Amanda (Jon) Davis; her sisters, Claire (Charles) Alexander and Sonya Deniece (Mike) Ploesnek; her grandchildren, Conner, Houston, Blake, and Tory; and one great-grandchild.
In accordance with her wishes, Jami will be cremated and the family will have a memorial service at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach, Florida on September 10, 2021 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, https://www.stjude.org/
