Don Samuel Mobley Sr.

Mr. Don Samuel Mobley, Sr., of Douglasville, GA passed away Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born November 5, 1941 in Brent, AL. Mr. Mobley retired from Norfolk Southern after 30 years. He served in the United States Army. Don loved the outdoors; whether it was working in the yard, sitting and watching cars or people pass by or just watching and feeding the squirrels. He enjoyed tinkering with things and cars, but loved his Harley Davidson. His favorite time however, was spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Wilma Mobley, granddaughter Shelby Thompson and grandson Austin Bruce.

Surviving him is the love of his life, wife Dorothy Mobley; son Don Samuel Mobley, Jr.; daughters Nicole and husband Shawn Thompson as well as Robin Montgomery; grandchildren Haley Mobley, Kaila Hans, Courtney Hans, Kelsey Munro-Thompson, Sydney Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Kelley Thompson, Amber Griffin, Jesse Montgomery; great-grandchildren Taelyn Washington, Rowan Griffin and Selah Griffin as well numerous other family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 2 until 3 o’clock pm. A funeral service will follow in the Rosehaven Chapel at 3 o’clock. Interment will take place in Rose Haven Cemetery.
