Douglas L. Wright

Mr. Douglas Lee Wright, Sr., age 77, of Douglasville, GA passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. He was born May 6, 1937 in Douglasville, GA to the late Douglas and Ruby Lee Wright. Doug was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and was proud of his yard work. Mr. Wright enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He served as a volunteer fireman with Douglasville City, a director at Douglas County Bank and sat on the Douglasville City Council for 13 years. He was employed for over 40 years with Piedmont National Corporation where many of his customers were like family.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wright; sons, D. Lee Wright, Jr. and wife Sonya, Marcus C. Wright; sister, Nelle Wigginton; two grandchildren, Jake Wright and Elizabeth Wright; sisters-in-laws, Emogene Nunis and Sharon Chapman, as well as several other family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Reverend James Harper officiating.
