Ellen leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Angel Jackson; her treasured grandson, Carlos Isaac Berry of Douglasville, Georgia; and her devoted sisters, Geraldine Harris of Fairburn, Georgia, and Joyce R. Harris of Cleveland, Ohio.
Born in Union Springs, Alabama, Ellen attended Montgomery County Schools before relocating to Cleveland, Ohio, where she continued her education at Empire Middle School and later graduated from Glenville High School in the Cleveland School System. She briefly attended Cuyahoga Community College and a Delta Airlines flight attendant academy before beginning a long and dedicated career with General Electric in 1971. Ellen faithfully served the company for more than 30 years until her retirement. In later years, she also worked as a caregiver for the elderly, a role she embraced with deep compassion and a genuine passion for caring for others.
Ellen’s faith was central to her life. She found joy and strength in worship and fellowship, attending Cleveland Church of Christ and Pentecostal Church of Christ, and later becoming a devoted member of All Nations Church in Cleveland, Ohio. After relocating to Union City, Georgia in 2021, she continued to live out her faith through love, service, and devotion.
In addition to her faith, Ellen delighted in traveling, cooking, fine dining, and reading. She was known for her warm spirit and generous heart. Ellen Jackson will be remembered for her faithfulness, kindness, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew and loved her, including a host of family, friends, and neighbors whom she cherished dearly. She also leaves behind her beloved childhood friend, Patricia Goodman, whom she had known for over 60 years since their middle school days at Empire.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with a repast in the Legacy Room at the funeral home following the service.
