

It’s with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Esmerelda Brown, affectionately called, Aunty AKA Money Brown, Manager, Esmie, ESME, Known TO ALL as Aunty.
Born on July 7th, 1935, on the beautiful island of Jamaica, in the parish of ST JAMES.
Esmerelda’s journey was marked by love, service and dedication to her family, friends and her community in which she resides.
Esmerelda was the cherished wife of Donald brown, with whom she shared an extraordinary 59 years of marriage, the union was sealed on July 19th, 1966, was a testament to enduring love and partnership a beacon of strength and unity to all who knew them.
Her legacy continues through her devoted children, Basil, Lloyd, Henry, Donald Jr, and Daughters Carlene, Tracy, Margaret, and stepdaughter Marcia. She was a proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren: Rohan, Kevin, Corey, Christopher, Gregory, Sharon, Kaylia, Petergaye, Tamara, Carol Camille, Caylin, Tasandra, and Montel , Kimberly, who she all loved dearly, her legacy further extended to 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, each an enduring testament to her influence and love. Esmerelda also leaves behind daughters-in-law Sheryl, Yolanda, Annmarie, and Shelly; siblings: Norma, Doreen, Neville, Gwendolyn, and Harris; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She was proceeded in death by her Mother Florence and Son Alvin.
Esmerelda (Aunty) was a woman of many talents, as she spent most of her life cooking hairdressing and taking care of her husband and family, her culinary skills brought joy and comfort to many, while her nurturing spirit to other people’s children was unique, her life work was never just a job, but a calling, a reflection of her generous heart and boundless love.
She was a devoted member of the Torrington Church of Christ for 44 years. Esmerelda was a pillar in her faith community. She lent her voice to the church choir, participated actively in the Women's Ministry, and was the cornerstone of the Care and Hospitality Committee. Her faith was a guiding light and her service was a testament to her deep-rooted belief in kindness, compassion and community.
Beyond her commitment, Aunty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the warmth of the beach and the adventure of travel, and the joy of cooking. Above all she cherished moments spent with family where laughter and love were ever present.
Esmerelda was a veteran in her community, not only for her years of wisdom but the kindness she imparted. Her life was a tapestry of love, woven with threads of resilience, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those she loved.
Mom, your loving spirit will forever be our guiding star. Rest in peace surrounded by the eternal love you generously shared.
