Eulene Hoskins

Affectionately known as “Mamaw,” she was a beloved figure to many, opening her heart and home to children across generations. She lovingly cared for her own children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, often serving as a steady and nurturing presence while their parents were at work. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and lasting memories.

Eulene had a deep love for plants and gardening, spending many happy hours working in the greenhouse alongside her husband, James. She found joy in watching things grow, a reflection of the care she gave so freely to those around her.

She was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. In the kitchen, she expressed her love through cooking, especially during Thanksgiving, when family gathered at her home to enjoy her turkey, dressing, and her famous rolls to enjoy meals that became treasured traditions.

Mamaw will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the countless lives she touched. The memories made in her home, especially around her table, will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Eulene leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her family and all who were blessed to call her Mamaw. Survivors include her daughters, Vera Hoskins and Deborah Porter; siblings, Johnie, Ethel, Sue, Delores, Doug, Herschell, Kenneth and Lizzie; grandchildren, Heather Dessauer and her husband, Jaja, Bailey Whitlock and Morgan Branch and great grandchildren, Atreyu Orien Hoskins, Phoenix James Hoskins, Juniper Elizabeth Dessauer, Weston Whitlock, Tatum Whitlock, Levi Branch and Natalie Branch.

Eulene was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Ray Hoskins; sons, Robert O. Hoskins and James Cris Hoskins and brothers, Moe and Joe.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 13 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Whitley Garner Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm in Rosehaven Memorial Park.
