Friday Sampson Ekpuk

With heartfelt sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Friday Sampson Ekpuk, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who lived a life defined by humility, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to family.

He was born in Ikot Afagha Eket, Nigeria to Magdaline Sampson Ekpuk Ukpa and Sampson Ekpuk Ukpa, and was one of eight siblings, each of whom he held dear: Mr. Udofia Sampson Ekpuk, Mr. Ukpa Sampson Ekpuk, Mr. Ata Sampson Ekpuk, Ms. Nko Sampson Ekpuk, Mr. Monday Sampson Ekpuk (Tailor), Mr. Nse Sampson Ekpuk, and Mr. Ime Sampson Ekpuk.

Friday earned his Bachelor of Science from Belmont Abbey College and enjoyed a successful career as a Textile Chemist, Research and Development. After retirement, he continued to serve others with dignity and purpose through his work at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for 10 years. He was respected for his intellect, dedication, and quiet strength. He proudly served as Executive President of the Eket Development Congress from 1997 – 2003, were he championed initiatives to uplift and unify the Eket diaspora, fostering progress and cultural pride.

Friday was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bertha Annette Ekpuk, with whom he shared a life full of love, partnership, and purpose.

A proud and loving father, Friday is survived by his daughters: Rotonda Carter Lozier (married to Ricardo Lozier), Bridget Grier, and Dana Maloof (married to Chris Maloof). He was a devoted grandfather to 7 grandchildren. A proud great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in the Rosehaven Chapel at 1:00 pm. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation will take place following the services.
