Glenn Forest Petty, age 68, of Hiram, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021. He was born April 18, 1953 in Rome, Georgia. A wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Glenn’s biggest joy was his family. He loved Daytona Beach, living life to the fullest and he went with the flow. Glenn loved riding motorcycles, being on his tritoon boat and was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Glenn was patriotic, loving his country, as well as a Christ follower who loved Southern gospel music.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Jean and Lester Anthony “Tony” Ballentine.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of almost 29 years, Blinda Lea Petty; children, Jeremy Quador (Sandi), Chris Petty (Nikki), Jennifer Lamastus (Troy), and Colton Petty (fiancé Cassidy); brothers, Jerry Petty and Wayne Ballentine (Lisa); sister, Brenda Patrick (Eddy); 11 grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Glenn will lie-in-state from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family has requested that everyone wear their Harley Davidson gear either to the visitation or to the funeral in honor of Glenn.
