Ila Brooks

Ila Watkins Stovall Brooks, age 100, passed away March 27, 2019. She was born February 3, 1919, the elder daughter of the late Howard and Jewell Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thad Stovall and Gene Brooks. She was employed on Front Street in Douglasville for over 30 years, first at Western Auto, then at J. Thad Smith’s Furniture.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Loretta Stovall; her daughter and son-in-law, GeNila and Wayne Wright; grandsons, Thad Stovall, Kevin Lanier, Carl Stovall and Michael Edgeworth.

A service to honor and celebrate her century of life will be held at Whitney-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home in Douglasville. The visitation will be Friday evening, March 29, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 4 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church.

Her inspirational life positively impacted many.
