He was born in Atlanta, GA, on December 15, 1949, the son of the late Mr. James Lee DeFreese, Sr. and Lynda Bennett Beavers.
Jimmy enjoyed many things throughout his life, but one of his favorite places was to be out on his tractor. He also loved to sing, travel in his RV with his wife and dogs, and explore new places with his wife. Jimmy had a green thumb and took pride in his gardens, growing both vegetables and flowers.
He was deeply involved in his church, serving as both an Elder and Treasurer at Liberty Christian Church. Most of all, Jimmy loved the Lord and spending time with his family, which brought him the greatest joy.
Jimmy will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Garrett.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Vicki DeFreese; son, Donald DeFreese; daughter, Lisa (Chris) Thomas; sister, Sonya (Larry Adams) DeFreese; grandchildren, Lindsey, Tiffany, Savannah, Isabelle, Marietta, and James; and great-grandchildren, Brysen, Barbra, and Novahlee.
