

Mr. James “Forty” Millard Tucker, age 94, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019. A native of Douglas County, he was born January 23, 1925 in Lithia Springs, Georgia. Mr. Tucker was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening having had a garden every year, and enjoyed cutting grass. He retired as a welder for Davidson and Kennedy after 30 years of service, where he worked on boilers and boxcars for the railroad.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Jean (Mulkey) Tucker; his parents, Herschel Johnson Tucker and Maudie Lee (Parks) Tucker; his children, James Anthony Tucker, Beth Adams, James Burton Tucker and David Ross Tucker; step-daughter, Angie Akin; and his siblings, Owen Tucker, Jack Tucker, Louise Foster, J. T. Tucker, Junior Tucker, Fred Tucker, Ernest Tucker, Claude Tucker, Betty Higgins, Martha Dean Tucker, and William Tucker.
He is survived by his children, James and Carolyn Lewis, Brenda Lou Yaun, Kathy Sue Hill, and Jack and Julie Tucker; sisters, Vera E. Morgan and her husband Robert, and Ruth Hurd and her husband John; 14 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Cathy White, Tommy Akin, Jerry Akin and Denise Engler; 12 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Tommy Akin officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
