Joan Carolyn Casey

Mrs. Joan Carolyn Casey, age 82, of Carrollton, GA passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017. She was born September 13, 1935 in Greenville, SC. Mrs. Casey was an active member with Liberty Baptist Church until her latter years, often going on senior trips with fellow members. She was a doll collector and enjoyed arts and crafts. She also enjoyed shopping, especially at yard sales and flea markets. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Casey is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Casey; parents Ernest and Ruby Hanks; best friend Leonard R. Wood, Jr and step-son Joey Casey. She is survived by her sons Lee Wood and Dudley Wood; daughter Renee (Jerry) Austin and Karen (Richard) Morris; brother Ronnie (Ann) Hanks; sister Betty Parker; grandchildren Selena Wood, Serena Wood, Lee Wood Jr., Mistalin Morris, Tasha (Curtis) Whitaker, Tina Wood, Hunter Dickerson, Alexis Dickerson, James (Kelly) Mobley, George (Claire) Austin, Kevin Austin and Christy (Jamie) Austin; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 11 until 1 o’clock. A funeral service will follow at 1 o’clock in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Chandon Mobley officiating. Interment will take place in the Rose Haven Cemetery.
