

Johnny dedicated 26 years of service to the Douglas County Fire Department, working as a paramedic. Throughout a long and respected career, he cared for countless members of the community with skill, calm, and compassion. Colleagues remember him as a dependable professional who was deeply committed to helping others in their most difficult moments.
Outside of work Johnny enjoyed building computers and spending time on amateur radio, hobbies that reflected a lifelong curiosity about technology and connecting with people. Whether troubleshooting a computer build or reaching out over the airwaves, Johnny found joy in learning and sharing knowledge with others.
He will be remembered for a life of service, curiosity, and dedication to both community and craft. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives were touched during decades of service.
Johnny is survived by his children, Scott Johnson and his wife Amy, Jason Johnson and his wife Amanda, Katie Easterwood and her husband Glenn, Michael Johnson, Jessica Barnes and her husband, David, Amy Gosa and her husband, Weston and Avery Rogers; brother, David Rogers, sisters, Jean Rogers and Liz Rogers; 18 grand children and 11 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Whitley Garner Funeral Home Friday, March 13 at 11:00 am with Pastor Allen Howard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Rogers’ urn will be placed at Rosehaven Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Johnny “Kermit” Rogers’ name to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
