A 1964 graduate of John McEachern High School, Judy was voted “Most Athletic” for her outstanding basketball skills. After graduation, she married and moved to Athens, Georgia, where she attended the University of Georgia and earned her business degree. She later attended West Georgia College, continuing her basketball career.
Judy’s passion for sports extended well beyond her school years. As an adult, she played on numerous women’s teams, enjoying softball, tennis, and volleyball.
On October 13, 1971, she welcomed her greatest joy, Clay into the world. Judy devoted herself to being a mother, staying home to raise him with love and care.
She was a wonderful big sister, always ready to open her home and her heart to her younger sisters, offering whatever they needed. Judy had a gift for creating beauty. Whether in decorating her home or tending to her yard, everything she touched was made lovelier by her hands.
While Judy excelled at many things, her deepest treasure was her faith. Her love for the Lord was steadfast, guiding her life and inspiring those around her.
She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Clay Bentley, and by her parents, Ray and Idell Henson. She is survived by her three sisters: Marilyn Zimmerman (Richard), Peggy Reynolds, and Barbara Owen (Don), as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Judy was cremated and a committal service will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta on Wednesday, August 20 at 2:00 pm
