Linda was born on Thursday, May 14, 1942, in Douglasville, Georgia, and she was the daughter of the late Howard Edward Thompson and the late Kathryn Georgia (Taylor) Thompson.
Linda was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Grandmommie, aunt, and friend. She was raised in Douglasville, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia. She spent over 25 years with the Collier County, Florida Public School System as an Exceptional Student Education Administrator. She loved sewing and quilting.
Linda is survived by her son, James McAnly, and his wife, Sarah; 2 Grandchildren, Austin McAnly and Reese McAnly; Brother, Edward Thompson, and his wife, Joyce; A host of cousins, and special friends.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Ron Wood.
Linda chose cremation and the family followed her wishes. A graveside service will be held at Rosehaven Cemetery, 8640 Rose Avenue Douglasville, GA 30134 at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
