She was deeply involved in every aspect of their upbringing—never missing a school function, game, or performance. Her presence was a constant, and her expectations were clear. She believed in teaching her children the value of hard work, responsibility, and showing up for the people you love.
Her home reflected her sense of order and discipline-it was always immaculately kept. Though she was practical and frugal, she made it a priority to take her children on vacation every summer, creating lasting memories that reminded them of life beyond the everyday.
Her life was a testament to quiet strength, resourcefulness, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of family, devotion, and the countless lives she touched with her steady presence and open heart.
Martha is survived by her children, Reggie Fugatt, Wanda (Bruce) Garrett, Willie Gray, Angela (Lewis) Krause and Derrick (Colleen) Fugatt; sister, Caroline (J.R.) Poole; grandchildren, DeWayne, Joshua, Misty, Bo, Daniel, Destiny, Dusty, Jaymie, Kyle, Holley, Harrison, Hollis and Katie as well as 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 3 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a service to honor Martha’s life starting at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at Rosehaven Cemetery.
Whitley Garner at Rosehaven is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements of Martha Gray.
