

The matriarch of the Fountain family and daughter of the late William Marvin Allen and the late Jessie Lee Hayden Allen was preceded in death by her first husband Fain Fountain, her second husband Elmer Beard, her daughters Shirley Rutherford and Charlotte Pace, her sons-in-law Danny Tanner and Bill Rutherford, and her grandson Tommy Rutherford.
Spending most of her life in Cordele & Douglasville, Georgia Mildred enjoyed her church family worshipping as a member of the New Brooklyn Baptist Church in Villa Rica. She loved to sing and cook for others and was known for her humor and love for her family. She spent a great number of years working in the cafeteria at Cobb General Hospital prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Billy and Jackie Fountain; daughter, Vicki Tanner; son-in-law, Ronnie Pace; grandchildren: Sean, Tonja, Terry, Christy, Dennis, Jeff, Ashley, Mandy, Alicia, and Chad; as well as nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11:00 am until 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel and a family graveside service will follow at 2:15 p.m. in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home in memory of Mildred for funeral expenses.
