Nelson was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 30th 1960 at Crawford Long Hospital. He was the son of the late Thomas Clifton Fox and Christine Shipp Fox.
He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather who always enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Bobo was the most honest, genuine and funniest man to be around. He was known to be the jokester of the crowd, always putting a smile on someone's face.
Bobo was a man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed a good hike, trips to the beach and riding motorcycles (and more recently his love for his Burgman scooter).
Nelson was also a man of integrity and service. He began his military career in the United States Army, serving from 1977 to 1981, during which time he met the love of his life; Cruz Maria "Mary" Fox in Panama City, Panama. His passion for serving his country led him to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served from 1985 to 2001. It was towards the end of his vocation that he and his family made their final move from Panama to Georgia at the end of 1998. After retiring from the military, he then dedicated his time as a firefighter with Dekalb County from 2002 to 2010.
Following his second retirement, he spent many a' nights enjoying his hot tub watching the stars while listening to his favorite oldies music. You could almost always catch him binge watching some good ol' Hawaii-Five-O and Magnum P.I. among many other shows as well. His endless knowledge and skills were so admirable and he never hesitated to offer his help to anyone who needed it. Have an issue around the house or car etc.? Just call dad. You can bet he was always the first to tackle the job.
Nelson was a truly simple man who never needed much to be happy. Being surrounded by the love of his family/furry companions and cooking up some tasty hamburgers and hot dogs was definitely his version of a picture perfect day. Oh, and can't forget about his favorite dessert: a chocolate covered yellow cake!
Dad, having you in our lives was the biggest blessing God could have gifted us. The memories we shared together will forever be cherished and know that you are loved beyond measures. This is not a goodbye; just a farewell until we meet again. 💕
Godspeed!...As you used to say.
Nelson is survived by his wife, Cruz Maria Fox; daughter, Miandra "Mindy" Christine Fox; son and daughter-in-law, Daryl Nelson and Lisa Lynn Fox; grandson, Phoenix Knight Fox; and sister and brother-in-law Cynthia and Larry Volk.
In addition to his parents, Thomas and Christine Fox, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Price Clifton Fox and Thomas Chris "Buzzy" Fox. Also, his most beloved pet; Rocket Fox, his sweetest little Dachshund.
